Dr. Living Dead live and breathe old school crossover thrash metal and have come an extremely long way in a short amount of time.  The band has two independently released demos (“Thrashing The Law” and “Thrash After Death”) under their belts and has already done a DIY Brazilian tour and supported Slayer.  The new album was recorded by death metal master, Fred Estby, who helped the band finally reach their full sonic potential on tracks such as “Slime From Above,” “Kindergarten Cop,” “Gremlins Night” and the now classic “UFO Attack.”

I mean sh**… they brought a sledgehammer, pitchforks, an anvil and a gong on stage with them. Sparks flew.  So we are ecstatic to bring their previously self-released and final recordings (for now) circa 2008, Not On My Watch, to the digital world. Preview “Beastman” in our Audio Player now.

Indisputably New Jersey’s most advanced metallic hardcore band to emerge from possibly the most underrated regional scene of the 90′s, FOR THE LOVE OF have been quietly on the prowl again with new vocalist Mike Olender of Burnt By The Sun infamy. To say that this rejuvenated lineup begged to be immortalized on record would be criminally understated, and the Not On My Watch EP (released in 2009) finally makes aging scenesters’ dreams a reality. It would take paragraphs upon paragraphs to list all the bands who owe their existence, whether consciously or not, to these Jersey pioneers.  It’s better than “not bad for a bunch of guys in their mid-30s.” It’s as good as evil, East Coast crossover hardcore can get.
